Newsflashes
- Periodically, students in Global Issues 621 will be asked to participate in a Newsflash. A newsflash is Coffin’s way of determining if students are fulfilling their requirements outside of class: watching the news and keeping up to date on local, national, and international events. If a student misses a newsflash, it is his/her responsibility to find out what the newsflash entailed and then submit immediately upon his/her return to school. Below, students will find newsflash topics for the semester.
October 4
- Students were asked to write about their relationship with food as we prepared to study our unit on Food and Agricultural Issues.
October 24
- Students wrote about some of the population issues they found interesting and/or shocking.
December 3
- Students were asked to share their thoughts on the concepts/values/place of religion.
January 7
- Students were asked to offer their opinions/reflections on this week’s guest speakers, Kara Cousins and Greg Anderson. Additionally, they were asked to decide and share their thoughts on their choice for the 2010 newsmaker of the year.
